ITINERARY

Day 1: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park and evening Game drive
The guide / driver will pick you from your place accommodation as early as 05:30 hrs, this is aimed at crossing Kampala city before 07:00 hrs to avoid heavy traffic jam. It also serves to allow normal driving speed. Driving will start towards the west to keep time, there will be no stop over to view anything until the night breaks.

After Kampala driving will continue southwards till you make a stop at the 0 degree latitude (Equator).At this point, you will be shown a local experiment of locating the Equator line without a Global positioning satellite (G.P.S) at the same time serves as a breakfast stop over. This is a place with coffee shops and hand crafts. There after a 1hour stop at the equator, driving continues southwards through green vegetation cover of the local community plantations of bananas, coffee, cassava and vegetables. Landscape remains relatively flat until it changes to a flat raised land (plateau) of Kyazanga after Masaka town. A second stop over will be at lake Mburo National Park after 3hrs of driving along a smart highway.

At Lake Mburo N.Park you will be likely to view zebras, Impala and on a very lucky day, the world’s largest antelopes (Eland). These three animals are a specialty for this particular game park because they are not found in other parks. 20-35minutes having the view of the park through the windows of the tour vehicle, Driving continues along the same highway till you make a lunch stop in the city of Mbarara, at Igongo cultural centre, right across the highway, in the opposite hills will stand a monument marking the solar eclipse that happened here way back in the year 1520.

After lunch stop, driving continues with viewing cattle ranches, banana plantations,crator lakes, rivers, forests as landscape will again change to hilly set up and reaching in the evening.

Checking-in to your place of accomodation and there after procced for the evening game drive, then later come back at your place of accommodation for Dinner and over night at the lodge.
MEAL PLAN: Half board

Day 2: Game Drive and Boat cruise
Early morning breakfast at 05:30hrs, this will take 30-45 minutes there after proceed for the game drive and we will drive 1km from the lodge.
While doing the game drive, expect to see the largest elephants, Tree climbing Lions, Hippos, Buffalo, Waterbucks, Kob, Giant forest hogs, hyena and many other small mammals like banded Mangoos, rats and Etc. During the game drive you will have a stop over at the Salt Lake (BUNYAMPAKA/KASENYI) where the extraction of salt is taking place. Expect a history about that lake, why the lake has two names and what BUNYAMPAKA means?

The driver/ guide will be changing the game drive Tracks to raise chances of viewing new things till you end up at KYAMBURA GORGE where a fault crack is 80 metres wide and 100 metres deep with River kyambura roaring at the bottom through underground rain forest- safe haven for man’s closet cousin (the chimpanzees). There will be no time for chimpanzee tracking according to the program. Thereafter driving back to the lodge for lunch and refreshment as prepare for the next activity in the evening (Boat cruise).

A 2-3 hour boat cruise gives one a chance to view some animals like; Hippos, Crocodiles, Buffalos, and it’s the sweetest time for bird lovers.
Birds will be in flocks ranging from sprawling, open billed stock, African jacana, cormorants, Kingfishers in many types, Fish eagle, crested crane and Eagles. Your guide/driver will be waiting at the deck and jetty to drive you to your place of accommodation.

Day 3: Transfer to your place of Accommodation
In the morning you will have a relaxed breakfast, and then later prepare to check out from the lodge.
Driving will begin and in the return will be another route along Fort portal – mubende road where shall be in position to view the slopes of Ruwenzori mountain, the Uganda’s highest point (1509) m above sea level – snow caped, proceeding north wards along the western line until Fort Portal town. You will take a glimpse at the king’s palace (Omukama Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru) of Toro Kingdom.

Later shall have a lunch stop for about 1hour. After, driving will continue east wards through the tea plantations of Toro and as we cross to Kampala there will be no stopovers until you get at your place of accommodation, and only to be left with wonderful memories about the safari.
